Education Minister visits C/R SHSs, donates digital pianos to JHSs

The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Oei Adutwum Friday donated five Digital Pianos to 5 basic schools in the Central Region to help in their creative art lessons which include music and cultural activities.

The presentation of the digital pianos comes after he paid an unexpected working visit to some Senior High Schools in the Central Region.

According to the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr. Adutwum’s objective of the visit was to monitor the adherence of the Covid-19 protocols, implementation of the Free SHS Policy, and teaching and learning.

The Service in a social media post sighted by Educationweb.com.gh said the Education Minister was impressed with the activities in the various schools and commended the Directorate for the good work in the midst of covid-19.

The beneficiary schools of the digital pianos include St. Augustine’s Practice, St. Monica’s Junior High School, Okyeso Catholic Basic, Baiden Walker Junior High School and Elmina Methodist Junior High Schools.

The 5 digital pianos were donated to the Ministry of Education for onward distribution to schools by Bouyoung Company Limited, a South Korean firm

Mrs. Martha Owusu Agyeman, the Regional Director of Education receiving the donation appreciation and assured the Bosomtwe Member of Parliament, Yaw Adutwum that the devices will be put to good use.
