The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) following the suspension of the University Teachers Association of Ghana has said it will from September 1 begin the end of second-semester examinations.
KNUST in a statement copied to EducationWeb.com.gh said the revision week for students of the university will commence from Monday, August 25 to August 31, 2021, and the final examination from September 1 to 7, 2021.
“Following the suspension of UTAG industrial action, The Executive Committee at a special meeting held on Monday, August 23, 2021, agreed to conduct the end of 2nd-semester exams from September” KNUST stated in the release.
Prospective students of the Kumasi-based University have been encouraged to visit the various notice boards of the Departments/Faculties/Colleges for their respective timetable for the conduct of the end of semester examinations.
In a related development, the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneur Development (AAMUSTED) has said it will on Monday, August 30, 2021, commence the end of the second-semester examinations.
“Following the suspension of the strike action by the UTAG, the Executive Committee at its emergency meeting today, Friday decided that the End of 2nd Semester Examinations shall commence on Monday, 30th August 2021,” it stated.
According to the Akenten Appiah-Menka University Management, owners of private hostels have been engaged to extend students stay for free for four weeks amid the unexpected nationwide University teachers strike.
“All students are therefore entreated to take note of these arrangements and get themselves in readiness for the examinations,” the Authorities of the University of Skills Training and Entrepreneur Development said in the release.
