Asiakwa R/C JHS wins 2021 Kingsley Maths and Science quiz

Asiakwa R/C JHS has been crowned the ultimate winner of the 2nd edition of Kingsley Maths and Science Quiz, a quiz programme sponsored by the Registrar of the Ghana Scholarships Secretariat (GSS), Kingsley Agyemang.

Kibi Presbyterian College of Education Demonstration Junior High School (Kibi) and Rock of Ages Academy (Kibi) emerged as the 1st runner up and 2nd runner up of the 2021 edition of the quiz competition respectively.

In a social media post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh, the Registrar of the Scholarship Secretariat commended Apedwa Presby Junior High School (JHS) for emerging as the best performing semi-finalist school of the contest.

“To all the 75 schools who participated, thanks for making this 2nd Edition a success. To the Municipal Education Directorate, our partners, GES Sponsors and everybody who contributed, I say thank you,” Mr Agyemang stated.

He in his post on Sunday indicated that the Republic of Ghana through active learning of Mathematics and Science will be able to build the next set of Professor Alloteys, Isaac Newton, Mark Zuckerberg and other prominent individuals.

Out of 75 Junior High Schools within the Abuakwa South Municipality, Asiakwa R/C Basic, Kibi Rock of Ages and KPCE Demonstration on Saturday, October 9, 2021, made it to the finals of the Kingsley Agyemang quiz competition.

The Scholarship Registrar early this year launched the Kingsley Maths and Science Quiz and Spelling Challenge to help students of primary schools in the Abuakwa South Municipality to know words and how they are spelt correctly.

A total of twenty-seven (27) primary schools within the Abuakwa South Municipality from Saturday, October 23, 2021, will compete amongst themselves at the maiden edition of the Kingsley Spelling Challenge.

The quiz and spelling contest, Kingsley said forms part of the government’s efforts to students acquire critical and independent thinking skills, s and are empowered to “succeed and adapt to this changing world through the STEM.
