NUGS calls on Hon Cecilia to fix damaged infrastructures in schools

The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) as part of a fix-it campaign has called on the Minister of Sanitation & Water Resources, Hon. Cecilia Dapaah to help fix and repair damaged and destroyed infrastructures in schools.

NUGS made the call on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, when they paid a courtesy call on the Member of Parliament for the Bantama Constituency at the Ministry of Sanitation & Water Resources.

Speaking to the Union, Hon. Cecilia Dapaah reiterated that her vision is to eradicate “open defecation “ and called on the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) to help spread her message to our constituents.

She also called on the entire student’s populace and the youth to perform their basic cleaning and sanitation practices and not to wait on the Ministry to ask them to do the needful.

The Sanitation Minister among other achievements said the Ministry has supplied waste bins to various Institutions including Universities, Ghana Police Service, etc to cater for their sanitation and waste management.

According to her, the Nana Akufo-Addo led government in due course will be embarking on the construction of 200 Ultra-modern toilet projects in Greater Kumasi which Senior High Schools won’t be left out.

Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah encouraged us to sensitize and educate our constituents and made a call for the implementation and strict enforcement of sanitation laws in the country.
