Issuance of in-service teachers license to end in Greater Accra Wednesday
The National Teaching Council (NTC) Monday, May 17, 2021, will commence the distribution of in-service teachers licenses to the staff of GES in the Greater Accra Region and later to other regions in the country.
The issuance of the in-service teachers licenses comes after the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, and National Teaching Council (NTC) Friday launched the Ghana teacher licensing and registration.
According to the National Teaching Council (NTC), the distribution of the teacher license to qualified in-service teachers will begin in the Greater Accra Region and later in other regions in the country.
For unprofessional teachers, the Council said it will after the issuance of the in-service teachers license award them a temporary license to enable them to upgrade themselves and sit for the teacher licensure to be qualified.
The Teaching Council also on request from relevant stakeholders for teachers to be given more time to register for the license at the Teacher Portal Ghana has indefinitely extended the May 7, 2021 deadline.
“Teachers are to note that registration at the TPG is the first step for qualified teachers to be issued the license. After licensing of teachers, NTC will register and issue a temporary license to non-qualified teachers.”
The National Teaching Council following the extension of the deadline has urged teachers to “visit the https://tpg.ntc.gov.gh to register for their license.
