According to the Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES), prospective students in Kindergarten and lower primary will spend four hours in school, thus classes will start 8:00 am and end 12:00 noon.
The Education Service in a communique sighted by Educationweb.com.gh said learners in primary, Junior High School (JHS) and Senior High School (SHS) will commence classes from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm daily.
This new arrangement comes after President Akufo-Addo directed for all students to return back to school mid-January to commence the 2021/2022 academic year after nine months of no school amid the outbreak of covid.
Nana Akufo-Addo in his 22nd televised nation’s address noted alcohol-based hand sanitisers, face masks, liquid soaps, Veronica Buckets, rolls of tissue paper among others have been distributed to schools in the country.
This he said forms part of the government’s efforts to ensure kindergarten, primary, Junior high school, SHS 2 and SHS 3 students are safe from the deadly virus as they return to school January 18, 2021.
His Excellency further advised students to observe the COVID-19 protocols at all times and maintain the level of discipline and sense of responsibility to stop the virus from spreading in schools.
