Prof Kwasi-Opoku Amankwa disclosed the condition of the free Wi-Fi speaking on UTV Adekye Nsroma show monitored by Educationweb.com.gh

The Director-General comment comes after his outfit this year planned for the 4th batch of the Free SHS beneficiaries to print their school’s prospectus online before reporting to school on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

But, due to the malfunctioning of the government free Wi-Fi in the majority of the schools, the GES official said not all second-cycle schools this year would be able to publish the prospectus online for their first-year students.

“The government has installed free Wi-Fi in all the Senior High Schools (SHS) but they are not working properly in some schools and also we have to train staff on how they can use it,” he told the host of Adekye Nsroma.

According to him, I.T experts are working tirelessly to resolve the technical challenges confronting the Wi-Fi network in the affected schools.

“So maybe from next week some schools will publish their prospectus online on their website for the first-year students to print them, this will help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus,” he told Yaa Konama.
