UNICEF, the United States Agency responsible for providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide has named the Republic of Ghana as the leader in preprimary education in sub-Saharan Africa.
Madam Anne Claire Dufay, the UNICEF country representative announced this speaking at the Early Childhood Education (ECE) policy framework launch monitored by EducationWeb.com.gh on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Accra.
She in her address congratulated the Education Ministry and the Ghana Education Service for their leadership in formulating a comprehensive policy framework, which includes directives, guidelines, cost monitoring and evaluation plan.
The Early Childhood Education Policy Anne Claire Dufay said will benefit approximately 1.8 million, 4 and 5-year old girls and boys amid the launch of the policy and framework will get the best start in life in kindergarten.
The policy and framework put together by the Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service (GES), with support from UNICEF is to cater for the comprehensive education needs of children of kindergarten-going age.
