The Ministry of Finance has granted the Ministry of Education (MoE) a financial clearance to enable the Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to recruit 600 ICT coordinators for the Education Service this year.
The coordinators, the Finance Ministry in a letter said must have their documents processed in time and placed on the mechanized payroll to enable the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to effect payment.
“The GES is to ensure that the ICT coordinators have their documents processed in time and placed on the mechanized payroll early enough to enable the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department effect payment.”
Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta in a letter sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said the financial clearance for the recruitment of new staff into service will commence from August 1, 2021 and end December 31, 2021.
“The financial clearance to all the government agencies will expire on December 31, 2021, and as such, the Ministries are to ensure that the recruitment is carried out before the expiration date,” the financial clearance letter stated.
The government through the Ministry of Finance this year has granted three Ministries (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Interior and Ministry of National Security) financial clearance to recruit 11,840 new staff into service.
