GES to conduct supplementary exams for staff who missed 2021 promotion test

The Ghana Education Service (GES) says it will at the later date conduct a supplementary examination for staff of the Service due for promotion but could not participate in this year’s February promotion test examination.

The yet to be administered supplementary promotion test examination comes after some teachers complained they did not received their Index number and other details required for a candidate to sit for the exams.

Professor Kwasi-Opoku Amankwa, the Director-General of the GES speaking on UTV’s Mpu ne Mpu show monitored by Educationweb.com.gh said his outfit in due course will announce the date for the forthcoming test.

He said even though majority of them qualified to sit for the promotion test but they were denied entry to the examination hall because they did not have an Index number and other required documents.

“So we will not leave such teachers disadvantaged, we will at the appropriate time let’s say in two week time conduct a supplementary examination for them,” the Director-General told UTV’s Yaa Konama.

According to him, the Index number, centre and other necessary details will be communicated to teachers of the Service due for promotion.

The 2021 promotion test which commenced on Thursday, February 25, 2021, is expected to end on Friday, February 26, 2021, at various centres
