343,264 to get SHS automatic placement – GES

About 343,264 candidates who sat for the 2020 edition of BECE for Private and School examination will get automatic placement into any of the 722 Senior High, Technical and Vocational schools in the country.

The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof Kwasi-Opoku Amankwa disclosed this in an interview with the Accra-based UTV monitored by Educationweb.com.gh on Friday February 26, 2021.

According to him, out of the 533,693 who registered for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) a total of 482,000 sat for the examination.

“343,264 candidates have been placed in the various second-cycle schools (Automatic placement), they should expect the release of the placement on February 28,” He told the host of UTV Mpu ne Mpu show Mrs Yaa Konama.

Prof Opoku further said the SHS placement checker card will be available by the close of Friday, February 26, adding that candidates can purchase them at any of the Computerized school selection and placement website.

“The 2020 SHS placement checker card will be out today and can be purchased at the Computerized school selection and placement website (i.e cssps.gov.gh or cssps.org) at an affordable price,” the Director stated.

A staff of the CSSPS has told Educationweb.com.gh the price of the SHS placement checker which currently GH 5.00 might be increased to GHS 7.00

According to him, the eVoucher card can be used an unlimited number of times by a single 2020 BECE candidate to check the SHS automatic placement and do self-placement on Sunday, February 28, 2021.
