A staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has told Educationweb.com.gh his outfit’s decision to reschedule final year SHS students reopening date to May 5, 2021, will not affect the proposed instructional hours of 1,080.
The Education Service has proposed 1,080 instructional hours for students preparing to sit for this year’s WASSCE to cover and complete their syllabus.
But, the GES official in an email to Educationweb.com.gh said that even though the time for the final year students to report to school has been extended to May 5, that will not interrupt the teaching and learning hours.
The rescheduling of the reopening date which applies to SHS 3 students in a single track and double track schools according to GES follows the proposal from The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS).
Ghana’s Education Service is however yet to officially communicate more details on the changes to members of the general public and students
