GES announces ‘impromptu’ mid-semester break for SHS 3 students

The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced for final year Senior High School students to go on a mid-semester break from Tuesday, July 20, 2021, and resume academic activities on Monday, July 26, 2021.
The Education Service in a statement copied to EducationWeb.com.gh stating no reason for the Form 3 students one-week mid-semester break said students who do not want to go home will be allowed to stay on campus.
“SHS 3 students are permitted to go on mid-sem break from Tuesday, July 20th to Sunday 25th. Classes will resume on Monday 26th July. Students who do not want to go home will be allowed to stay,” GES stated in the release.
According to the Service, candidates preparing for the forthcoming 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) who wish to stay on campus to study will be taken care of by their respective schools.
“Students who do wish to go home or find it difficult to go home should be allowed to remain in the school and Heads are to ensure they are fed and follow all rules of the school,” the letter to Regional Directors of Education said.
