Free TVET/SHS awaits you, do your best – BECE candidates told

The Deputy Minister for Education, John Ntim Fordjour following the administration of the 2021 BECE has encouraged candidates to put in their best effort to pass the national examination and benefit from the Free TVET and SHS.

He in his goodwill message sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh to the final year JHS students said “wishing all 571,894 BECE candidates nationwide the very best of success and God’s favour. Do your best, Free SHS/TVET awaits you.”

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister for Education has also said candidates who qualify for placement in any of the public secondary schools will enjoy the Free SHS or Free Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

The Education Minister advising candidates who will from Monday, November 15, 2021, sit for the BECE to desist from examination malpractice also urged supervisors and invigilators to observe all the novel Covid-19 safety protocols.

“I wish to encourage candidates, invigilators, supervisors, school authorities, and teachers to observe all COVID-19 safety protocols as you write the exams devoid of all forms of examination malpractice,” the Education Minister said.

He indicated that the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service, West African Examinations Council and security agencies are working hand in hand to ensure the BECE is smooth and peaceful.

“Let me assure you that my Ministry is working hand-in-hand with GES, WAEC, and the Security Services to ensure smooth and peaceful exams at all the 2,158 designated centres,” the Bosomtwe Member of Parliament noted.

A total of 571, 894 final year Junior High School (JHS) students from Monday, November 15, 2021, will sit for the 31st edition of BECE for School expected to end smoothly on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 2,158 examination centres.

264,750 students out of the 571,894 candidates according to the National Executive Director of the Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) are from over 5,000 private Junior High Schools (JHSs) across the country.

The 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School when begun with Social Studies Paper 1&2 on Monday will end with Information and Communication Technology Paper 1&2 on Friday, November 19, 2021.
