We are going to make Free Senior High School a permanent feature of our educational system to make it possible for every young person who wants to study to be able to do so, Akufo-Addo stated Friday in Jubilee House.
The President announced this speaking to 8 out of the 411 Ghanaian candidates also known as Akufo-Addo graduates who sat for the 2020 WASSCE for School examination and obtained grade A in the subjects.
He said the heavy investments of the government in the popular Free Senior High School policy (Free SHS) have been fruitful hence the need for his administration to continue with the implementation of the program.
“The investments in Free SHS have been worthwhile, and we are going to continue with it. We are going to make it a permanent feature of our educational system to make it possible for every young person who wants to study and grow to be able to do so,” President Akufo-Addo announced.
Nana Akufo-Addo commended the candidates he last year described as Akufo-Addo graduates for their excellent performance in the immediate past WASSCE despite the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
According to a WAEC report sighted by Educationweb.com.gh, 2020 was the only year 50% of Ghanaian candidates scored A1 to C6 in all core subjects.
