Ghana’s Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Adutwum last Friday was honoured by two institutions at separate ceremonies in Accra for his enormous contribution to the education sector in Akufo-Addo’s first-term government.
The Bosomtwe Member of Parliament this year was appointed the substantive Education Minister after he served as Deputy Education Minister for Pre-tertiary education from 2017 to late December 2021.
He was commended for the role played towards the introduction of the Free SHS policy and double-track system which according to the honours has brought a lot of gains to parents, students and the nation as a whole.
The leadership of the Dzelukpe Anlo State in the Volta region presented the Member of Parliament for the Bosomtwe Constituency, Dr Adutwum a Kente cloth and traditional sandals and another cloth for his wife.
The delegation from the Ashanti region, on the other hand, presented the Educationist citation congratulating him on his new ministerial position.
The teaching Minister speaking to the two delegations separately acknowledged them for the recognition saying it would spur him on to do more for the development of education in the country for the years ahead.
