EC donates leftover personal protective equipment to GES

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) as part of efforts to slow the spread of the locally transmitted coronavirus (Covid-19) has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The donated PPE’s which are to be distributed to schools and education offices comprises 15,000 pieces of liquid soaps, 15,000 hand sanitisers, 66,000 transparent faces (mask) shields, and 5,000 re-usable Face Mask.

Mrs Jean Adukwei Mensah, the Chairperson for EC presenting the items to the Service said the PPEs were leftovers of what the Commission procured to ensure that its staff and electorates were safe to cast their ballot.

The EC chairperson said the personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) would go a long way to support the fight against the global coronavirus pandemic in various health facilities, schools, and offices across the country.

Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwa, Director General of GES, who received the items thanked the EC for the gesture and pledged to forward them to those who would need it most towards the fight against the pandemic.
