Dr Adutwum inaugurates 13 member NTC Governing Council

The Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum Thursday, January 13, 2022, inaugurated a 13 member NTC Governing Council with renowned educationist Mr Anis Affar as chair, the National Teaching Council has said.

Dr Adutwum after a short swearing-in ceremony of the members of the National Teaching Council (NTC) charged them to bring their expertise and knowledge to support the Council to improve the standard of teaching in the country.

Registrar of NTC, Christian Addai Poku later Thursday was also sworn in as a member of the Ghana Education Service Council to advise the Minister for Education on policy formulation and the coordination of approved national policies

In a related development, The Minister for Education, Hon Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum after inaugurating the Governing Council of the Ghana Education Service on Thursday at a short ceremony also swore in members of the GES Council.

The Education Service Council is expected to advise the Education Minister on policy formulation and the coordination of approved national policies, programmes and standards relating to Basic and Senior High Education delivery.

Members of the governing body are from agencies including WAEC, NaSIA, NTC, NaCCA, MoE, Local Government Service Council (LGSC), the Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs), and the Non-teaching Staff of the GES (TEWU).

Dr Adutwum after the short swearing-in ceremony commended the Council members for their appointment urging them to contribute enormously to pre-tertiary education to help the government train more young Ghanaians.

“Bring your knowledge and expertise to bear on Pre-tertiary Education to help the government train young Ghanaians to become relevant in the fourth revolution job space—the digital age,” he told the GES council members.
