The Minister responsible for Education and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum Thursday announced the sudden death of his mother who passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021.
Hon Osei Yaw Adutwum breaking the sad news in a social media post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said “My beloved mother gave it all up this afternoon.” The cause of the death of the old lady is not immediately known.
Members of the general public, members of his party, the New Patriotic Pary (NPP), staff of the Ministry of Education (MoE) and various agencies under the Ministry have since sent their condolences to the teaching Minister.
”I’m saddened to hear that the woman whose womb gave us such a brilliant gift is no more. Your mother is our mother,” a social media communicator of the opposition NDC party stated on social media on Friday.
The former Deputy Minister for Education early this year was after his vetting process was appointed as the Minister for Education by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to serve in his second term in government.
He was born on April 9, 1964, in Jachie in the Bosomtwe District, in the Ashanti Region, Ghana, to parents who were farmers.
Mr Yaw Adutwum holds a PhD in Education Policy and Administration from the University of Southern California and a Master’s Degree in Education Management from The University of La Verne also in California
