CSSPS gives deadline to resolve all SHS placement issues

The Free SHS Secretariat in collaboration with the management of the Computerized School Placement System (CSSPS) says effective measures have been put in place to settle all 2021 SHS placement issues by the close of this week.
Deputy Coordinator of the Free Senior High School (Free SHS), Nana Afrah Sika Mensah in a discussion with JoyNews monitored by EducationWeb said more than 8,000 school placement issues have been resolved nationwide.
As part of the Secretariat’s effort to ensure all successful BECE students who qualified for school placement are placed, Afrah Sika said her outfit is working hand in hand with the CSSPS to solve other outstanding placement issues.
“It’s been five weeks since the Resolution Centre was set up. We have resolved the majority of the issues brought to us; close to 8,000 issues that we had on our desk have been resolved,” the Assistant Coordinator told JoyNews.
She continued “there are some students at home because they were enrolled as day students; so, we need to de-enrol them and make them boarders due to proximity issues. By the end of this week, all the issues will be resolved.”
In a related development, the management of the Ghana TVET Service on April 9, 2022, ended school enrolment of qualified BECE who were placed by the CSSPS into Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
The TVET Service in a statement copied to EducationWeb said parents and guardians whose wards have some medical conditions are to contact Principals of the various public Technical Institutes for an extension of the deadline.
“Parents and guardians whose wards may have some medical conditions and will require an extension of the deadline may contact Principals of Technical Institutes for special arrangements to be made enrolment afterwards,” it stated.
For Junior High School graduates who applied for re-entry, the TVET Service has urged them to check the Computerized School and Selection Placement System (CSSPS) portal for their placement and subsequent enrolment.
“Our call centres and resolution centres will continue to operate until April 29, 2022. For further enquiries, please contact the Deputy Director-General of TVET Service via email at prah_d@yahoo.com or 0243-536617,” TVET noted.
