Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) leadership, after meeting with the stakeholders in the education sector, says it will in due course communicate the date for the commencement of the Colleges of Education academic year.
In a post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh, TTAG said its delegation on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, engaged stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education (MoE) and Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
“Dr Eric Nkansah, Technical Advisor in charge of Tertiary Education (MoE), Mrs Sandra Amoah, Budget officer at GTEC, and Mr Jerry, Coordinator in charge of Colleges of Education (GTEC) were stakeholders engaged,” TTAG stated.
According to the Trainees’ Association of Ghana, they engaged the Ministry of Education (MoE) and its agencies to get updates on related issues affecting teacher trainees in the 46 public Colleges of Education (CoEs) in the country.
Issues discussed at the engagement the leadership of the Teacher Trainees’ Association (TTAG), said were the date for the commencement of the Colleges of Education academic year and payment of the arrears of trainees allowance.
TTAG at the stakeholders meeting held late last month was also updated on the final decision on the the exorbitant provisional fee from PRINCOF after its intervention and feeding component of the teacher trainees allowance.
Following the discussion, the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana Saturday, October 2, 2021, said an official communique on the updates of the pending issues in due course shall be duly released to the public and trainees.
Meanwhile, a purported report from PRINCOF has said, Level 100 and 200 Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), students will report to campus for face to face interactions from Monday, January 11, 2022, to Saturday, February 20, 2022.
Level 200 students of the various 46 public Colleges of Education (CoE) the Conference of Principals (PRINCOF) said shall vacate campus and begin online lectures from Monday, February 22, 2022, to Saturday, April 23, 2022.
According to the National Conference of Principals of College of Education (PRINCOF) report level, 300 students shall commence lectures online (virtual learning) from Monday, January 11, 2022, to Sunday, February 20, 2022.
