The Minister-designate for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has said he would not advocate for the cancellation of the Ghana teacher licensure exams conducted annually by the National Teaching Council (NTC).
Dr Yaw Adutwum announced his stand on the NTC licensure examination Thursday, February 11, 2021, when he appeared before the Appointment Committee during his vetting process monitored by Educationweb.com.gh.
The former Deputy Education Minister in charge of Basic & Secondary Education explaining why he would not back the call for the cancellation of the licensure exams said “because it’s a way of accessing the future teacher”
His comment comes after some College of Education (CoE) graduates in the country petition him to annul the yearly Ghana teacher licensure examination (GTLE) when he resumes office as Ghana’s Education Minister.
Meanwhile, the Management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) is yet to communicate the date to conduct the 5th and 2021 edition of the teacher licensure examination to members of the general public and graduates.
