Flashback: Basic schools to get ICT lab, teachers a laptop in the next 6 years

More than 27,000 basic schools in the country will be procured with an ICT laboratory filled with 50 computers and one laptop for each teacher in the next 6 year, the immediate past Education Minister announced last year.

Dr Matthew Prempeh in an interview monitored by Educationweb.com.gh on Peace 104.3 FM said the Ministry of Finance October 29, 2020, presented phase two of the national digitization project to the Education Ministry.

“Every school in the country, the over 27,000 basic schools in the next 6 years will get one computer laboratory furnished with 50 computers and the teachers also be provided with one laptop or computer”, he stressed.

According to him, the national digitization project will ensure every basic school in the country is equipped with an ICT laboratory with at least 50 computers mainly for the school and a laptop for the teacher.
