A/R: AirtelTigo commissions 6-unit classroom at Atwima Mponua

Ghana’s Telecommunication giant, AirtelTigo has commissioned a 6-unit classroom block for Kotokuom R/C Primary School in the Atwima Mponua District in the Ashanti region to enhance education facilities in the district.

The school building under the “Yεn Nkͻsoͻ Nti” Corporate Social Responsibility initiative which consists of a six-unit classroom block and a Headmasters office according to AirtelTigo is worth GHC 300,000.

The network service provider also donated stationery, veronica buckets, handwashing soaps, sanitiser, nose masks and tissue to the school.

Mr Kwame Osafo Amoah, the Commercial Head of AirteTigo, Ashanti Zone in his address at the handing over event said the construction of the structures is in fulfilment of his outfits promise to give back to the region.

“AirtelTigo promised to Invest one per cent of our proceeds from airtime recharge by our customers in the Ashanti, Bono and Ahafo regions into the development of educational facilities and enhancing public schools in the region,” Kwame Osafo told Authorities of Kotokuom R/C Primary School.

Additionally, the company has also extended its network coverage to the district to help in community development.

Kotokuom R/C Headmaster, Mr Mujaahid Ibrahim expressed his profound gratitude to AirteTigo for the new 6-unit classroom. ‘This will help motivate students to work harder to achieve brilliant results,” he stated.
