Education Think Tank – Africa Education Watch following the ongoing 2021 WASSCE says it with the support of OXFAM, is monitoring the international examination administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
The Watch’s notice to WAEC comes after it Friday, August 20, 2021, reported the leakage of Food and Nutrition Paper 3 which was scheduled to be administered on Friday at 1:30 PM to the Examinations Council.
In a social media post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh, the Executive Director of EduWatch stated “Food and Nutrition Paper 3 which was scheduled for 1:30 PM, was leaked on social media at 6:00 am and 11:06 AM Friday.
“We reported to West African Examinations Council (WAEC) at 11:10 AM, and can now confirm it is indeed a genuine leak. The paper is just starting at the Centres,” Mr Kofi Asare said in the post.
According to Mr Asare, his outfit is closely monitoring the conduct of this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with the support of OXFAM to improve accountability in the Education Assessment Sector.
‘Eduwatch is monitoring WASSCE 2021 with the support of OXFAM and will continue collaborating with WAEC to improve accountability in the Education Assessment Sector,” the Education Economist and Policy Analyst stated.
Meanwhile, the non-profit-making organization (WAEC) has said it is considering legal actions against the Education Watch for claiming the 2020 WASSCE questions were intentionally leaked to the first batch of free SHS students.
The Head of the WAEC Legal department, Rev. Victor Brew, commenting on the issue said the Africa Education Watch 2020 WASSCE report is fraught with inaccuracies adding his outfit is considering filing a lawsuit against the Watch.
