According to Ghana’s Education Minister, Achimota SHS which denied two 2020 BECE graduates admission amid their long hair has produced a lot of prominent citizens in the country than any other Senior High Schools (SHS)
Dr Adutwum announced this speaking on News Desk on JoyNews Channel monitored by Educationweb.com.gh on how his outfit is working tirelessly to bring a solution to the matter at the Achimota Senior High School.
According to him, consultations are still ongoing between the GES and parents of the students and a directive after the meeting will be issued to all Heads of SHS on how to manage cases of students with dreads in the future.
Asked if Motown Headmistress has been directed to revoke her decision not to admit the rasta students, the Minister for Education said Achimota SHS has trained more leaders in the country than any school adding “their history will not be defined as exclusion, we will protect their brand.”
“So that is why I am calling on all Ghanaians and those interested in the Motown issue to calm down, It will be resolved for teachers, students and the Headmistress to go about their work,” Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum assured.
