Immediate past Education Minister, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as part of his effort to eliminate schools-under-trees Wednesday handed over a six-unit primary school block to a village in the North Tongu Constituency.
The MP in a social media post sighted by Educationweb.com.gh said his gestures is to also end the unacceptable spectacle of children of the holy village of Morklikpo walking long distances to access education.
According to him, the Morklikpo school is one of some thirty primary schools under construction in very hard to reach communities.
“We are determined to totally eliminate the phenomenon of schools-under-trees and end the unacceptable spectacle of children walking long distances to access education,” the North Tongu Member of Parliament stated.
Hon Samuel Ablakwa furthered that “we will keep doing our best to remove all barriers to our children’s fundamental right to quality education.”
